About Jakarta Eucharistic Revival
The Jakarta Eucharistic Revival (JER) 2026 is a movement of faith calling the People of God to rediscover the Eucharist as the source and summit of Christian life…
Inspired by the theme “Chosen, Blessed, Broken, and Shared,” JER gives life to our Four Pillars — Formation, Worship, Service, and Mission — through which the faithful are renewed, strengthened, and sent forth as Christ’s living presence in the world. Rooted in the Archdiocese of Jakarta’s pastoral journey, JER is part of the preparation for the Archdiocesan Year of the Eucharist 2027. It serves as a moment of renewal, encounter, and unity through prayer, liturgy, music, catechesis, and adoration, so that all may experience the love of Christ made visible in the Eucharist.
“Taken, blessed, broken, and shared — that the world may know His love.”
“That the world may know His love”
The 4 Pillars of JER
Being Chosen
God’s initiative — chosen from the harvest of the world; wheat that becomes bread and forms the Body of Christ. “In the sacrament of the Eucharist, Jesus shows us in particular the truth about the love which is the very essence of God.” Pope Benedict XVI”
Blessed
The blessing poured out in thanksgiving — Eucharistia; the consecrated Host and the chalice of thanksgiving. “The Eucharist is ‘the source and summit of the Christian life.’ The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, art. 1324)
Broken
The sacrifice of Christ’s Body; the loaf broken and shared — “This is My Body, broken for you.” “The Eucharist is the efficacious sign and sublime cause of that communion in the divine life and that unity of the People of God by which the Church is kept in being.” (CCC 1325)
Given
To be given — serving others, sending forth in mission, offering bread and life for the world. “This is the strength of the Eucharist, which transforms us into bringers of God, bringers of joy, not negativity… In the Eucharist, Jesus draws close to us: let us not turn away from those around us.” Pope Francis
Vision
To awaken the faithful’s love for the Eucharist as the source and summit of Christian life, leading every believer to a personal encounter with the Risen Christ and to live as witnesses of His love in the world.
(cf. Desiderio Desideravi, Pope Francis)
Mission
1. To Revive Eucharistic Awareness
Renew the understanding that the Eucharist is the heart of faith and life, where Christ Himself gathers, sanctifies, and sends us forth.
2. To Experience and Celebrate the Mystery
Invite all the faithful to encounter, celebrate, and proclaim the Eucharist — not only in liturgy, but also through daily living, service, and fraternity.
3. To Foster Missionary Spirit Rooted in the Eucharist
Cultivate a renewed sense of mission — Ite, Missa Est — that moves the faithful to bring the presence of Christ into every sphere of society.
4. To Strengthen Communion in Christ
Build unity and fraternity among communities through prayer, sacred music, Eucharistic celebration, and adoration, allowing the Eucharist to transform hearts and relationships.
